Life after College... And Sydenham Arts Festival 2013

So whats been happening in your lives in the past 3 months? For me- exams are long over as is work experience with the PR company, and I just started working at an advertising firm! Yep, graduated- the lot. I did mean to blog earlier, but I was so overridden with grief because I don't get my LAST OFFICIAL SUMMER HOLIDAY ( the importance of this warrants capital letters), and sad because I only just realized how much Im going to miss college. You know, the coming in 5minutes late and noone bats an eyelid, those people you get carried away with in the study room ( because if you sit in front of a PC with your books out while you chat and have a laugh, then you feel like youre being studious) but then realise you have a million essays to write, coursework to edit and hundreds of pages of revision to start ( if you've done A level psychology then you'll know that that is NOT an exaggeration). Good times. But I managed to get a but of time off, 3 weeks to be precise. So I got back into writing some poetry, got out to the cinema, did a bit of shopping in London with some friends and went and stayed with friends in Dartford.
Last weekend I went to this years Sydenham Arts festival to see my brothers work.
There was also some lovely ceramic pieces as well as handmade jewelry!
Some of the art GCSE students did a range of Roy Lichenstien's famous "M-maybe". Be sure to check it out next year!

Well, its Summer!

Sun's shining, its Saturday and Im going out later :) good times or what? Loads of parties and do's, parents anniversary to come too. Then exams in June and work experience! The countdown has officially begun! I only have 4 weeks until college is over FOREVER. Which i'm getting all sentimental over. I dont know whats on the horizon, I just know I'm scared! But where would the excitement be without the fear? 2013, bring it on.

Breaking the New Years clichès

Apologies for not blogging for a while. I've learned the true meaning of 'multi-tasking' as I've juggled revision for my upcoming psychology exam on the 16th (why Michael Grove decides to put A level exams right after the Christmas holidays when everyone is busy with Sales shopping and the X factor finals is beyond me).
As for the typical weight loss revolutions , my poor brother is currently on a strict diet for the next few weeks due to illness and is putting us all to shame with his amazing self control. Bless him. Me? Well I have spent the last few days shopping and saw the new year in with close friends on a sleepover. Tomorrow I'm up to Kent for another sleepover. Last minute fun before the dreaded "Crash Revision". So my lovely family will have to put up with my flustered pre-exam panic an I probably wont be able to talk much for the next two weeks, but I'm sure when I can, there'll be loads to tell!

Late night thoughts...

Hi guys! Just got back from a friends party, happy but tired as I know it'll have to be FULL ON revision tomorrow. Oh well. This past month has gone really fast, the new year will be in soon, and it'll be time for us to all start making difficult new years resolutions and ridiculous diets to shift the holiday fat! Night ...

Some time later...

Sorry I haven't blogged
For a bit! I'm not going to tell you nothing has happened worth blogging, as it's been quite the opposite!
In between revising and homework and coursework, there was what the teachers call 'further education' to tackle. That went a whole lot better than I would've ever expected- I was accepted onto PMA Media training spring journalism course(!!!) So the whole month October has been full of scary interviews and there's more to come! And of course somehow I'm managing to fit in X Factor saturday's - you know the ones where you end up crying with laughter with your best friends and enjoy food from that awesome chippy on the corner. My guilty pleasure!

Dulwich Art Gallery

Took a very interesting trip to the Dulwich Art gallery today. Its funny how you can live literaly a bus ride on the P4 away from somewhere, but not visit very often. I will be honest and admit that the primary reason I went is because my brother and best friend both take GCSE and A level Art respectively, but I was pleasantly suprised! I was quite taken aback by the life size 'fruit heads' outside of the entrance, before seeing the traditional art inside. Infact, they have an Andy Warhol exhibition open untill September as well as the ret of the fibreglass 'fruit heads' by American artist Philip Haas. Pop down and take a look.

Covent Garden Flower market...at 7am.

Its cold, early morning and theres Cheryl Cole blarinrg on one of the radios.
Just an average morning at the flower market in Covent Garden. My Mum's a budding florist, although ever modest, and was in charge of decorations for a wedding of  a friend. The best way to describe it would be a large airconditioned warehouse filled with every type of flower imaginable. From the traditional roses and lillies to more tropical varieties.

I also learned that there is a lot more to flower arranging than sticking flowers and foliage into an oasis. Tucked way in the back of the warehouse was an impressive range of spray dyes and ribbons, along with gems and fixtures that can be used in bridal arrangements.
After purchasing the brides wish of white and blue roses, the actual work started.
Early Saturday morning we were at the wedding venue, near the infamous Blackwall Tunnel. We joined in the bustle of everyone else working to set up the reception, which was a chaotic but orderly execution.
And well...  they say a picture paints a thousand words. Below are the pictures of the finnished product.
